"Congress is a polarized, hyper-partisan, dysfunctional mess and that dysfunction puts our democracy under grave threat.
For example, the bipartisan border legislation became a mess when Members of Congress, including Central Texas Democrat and Congressional Candidate Rick Von Pfeil, allowed partisan politics to wreck the bipartisan solution.
Rick Von Pfeil is a 5th generation Central Texan with roots in Taylor and rural East Williamson County.
Both sides of my family were involved in local businesses, from farming and BBQ on my mother's side to real estate and ironworks on my father's side. I attended St. Mary’s Catholic School and graduated from Taylor High School. After earning a Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in Finance at Baylor University, I moved on to a successful career in private industry, primarily in health care, high tech, and business consulting. As a Central Texas Democrat and Congressional Candidate, I am committed to representing the values and interests of our community, much like my family's entrepreneurial spirit.
After working more than 25 years in business, he returned to Taylor with his wife Pam to help care for his elderly parents.
I understand what it’s like to be the only Democrat in the room, especially as a Central Texas Democrat. Growing up in a conservative household, studying religion at Baylor, and working in the corporate world for years has shaped my perspective. As a Congressional Candidate, I want to leverage my experience in building bridges and finding common values to restore a sense of community to the district, and then take that same approach to Congress.
